New investment opportunities will be sought for Barbados over the next few days when Minister of Finance, Christopher Sinckler, leads a delegation to a four-day road show to London and the United States of America.

Those attending the road show are Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Nancy Headley; Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Dr. Delisle Worrell; and his Advisor, Michelle Doyle-Lowe. The group will leave the island today for London, and then they will travel on to New York, Boston and Los Angeles.

Minister Sinckler and the team will meet with bankers and potential investors with a view to updating them on this island’s recent economic performance. In addition, they will have one-on-one meetings with large institutional investors who usually purchase emerging markets sovereign debt or who may have previously purchased Barbados’ international bonds.

Underscoring the importance of the road show at this time, the Finance Minister stated: ???It is anticipated that this activity will assist in preserving Barbados’ credit worthiness, while maintaining the confidence of prospective investors that this country is an economically stable and secure place to invest.???
