Respect the law, be responsible and always be prepared.

This is the advice coming from Attorney General, Adriel Brathwaite, who was speaking during a special sitting of the Supreme Court to admit 45 new attorneys to the Bar, last Friday.

The Attorney General encouraged the new lawyers to respect their clients, themselves and their profession, while encouraging them to uphold the law at all times given the significant role played by the profession in democracies.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice, Sir Marston Gibson, told the new attorneys that their reputation was their most valued asset and they should not do anything that would jeopardise it.

He also encouraged them to dedicate part of their career to criminal law, stating that there was a need for more lawyers to specialise in this area on the island.
