The issue of climate change was the focus of talks today, when new Ambassador of Norway, Torbjorn Holthe, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean.

The two officials discussed the upcoming high-level conference on climate change in Norway, being held at the end of May, and how important such an issue was for a small island such as Barbados.

Other areas discussed included regional integration, the global economic crisis, alternative energy, the upcoming Summit of the Americas, security issues and drug trafficking.

Barbados and Norway established diplomatic relations in 1976.
