Minister of Education and Human Resource Development Ronald Jones

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development has a new cadre of professionals leading that organisation.

Minister with responsibility for that Ministry, Ronald Jones, made this announcement yesterday, while at a press conference to discuss education related matters at the Ministry.

He said that former head of the Education Project Implementation Unit, Bruce Alleyne, had been appointed acting Permanent Secretary from the beginning of this year, replacing Anthony Layne, who has retired.

Former Deputy Chief Education Officer, Laurie King, is now acting Chief Education Officer, after the recent retirement of Dr. Wendy Griffith Watson; while the posts of Deputy Chief Education Officer have been filled by former Senior Education Officer Joy Gittens, and former Principal of the Alleyne School, Erwin Greaves, both of whom are also acting. kmoore@barbados.gov.bb
