A new and improved website will soon be in the works for the Ministry of Agriculture.

In an effort to enhance its client communication, the Ministry will shortly be launching its upgraded website to members of the public.

According to Agriculture Officer with responsibility for the Ministry’s Agricultural Information Services (AIS) Unit, Mark Byer, "The Ministry launched its first website on October 6, 1999.?? The second and current website is now six years old having been launched on March 29, 2004.???? Since then website technology and methodology has changed and improved greatly.?? This new site will draw on the experience of these previous websites as it is much more user friendly and oriented."

The Agriculture Officer added that the website was a tool to learn more about the Ministry, since individuals would no longer have to come there but rather could now go on the site and access the relevant information.

??The new website will be launched next Tuesday, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. at the Savannah Hotel with the Minister of Agriculture, Senator Haynesley Benn, delivering the feature address. tblackman@barbados.gov.bb
