The penultimate lecture in the series "Emigration from Barbados" will take place next Tuesday, April 13, with a presentation from historian and university lecturer, Dr. Andrew Downes.

He will speak on the topic "Managed Migration from Barbados: The Temporary Worker Programme in Canada and the USA" at the Grande Salle, Tom Adams Financial Centre, starting at 7:30 p.m.

The series, coordinated by the Barbados Museum and Historical Society (BMHS), explores the link between the sugar revolution in Barbados in the 1640’s and the emigration trends which occurred from that period to the present.

The final lecture entitled "Migration and the Barbadian Standard of Living" will be held on Tuesday, April 20, at the Sir Hugh Springer Auditorium, Barbados Workers’ Union headquarters, Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael. The presenter will be Central Bank Governor, Dr. Delisle Worrell.??
