The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is aiming to start 600 houses, before year end, in Christ Church, St. Peter and St. George, under the Housing Every Last Person (HELP) Programme, according to General Manager of the NHC, Vincent Alleyne.

The news came, today, that the houses will each be built on approximately 3, 000 to 4,000 square feet of land, with a floor space of approximately 644 square feet, for two bedroom structures, while the three bedroom homes will span 820 square feet.

Under HELP, 220 houses will be constructed at Coverly Phase II, Christ Church, 44 in Four Hill and 17 in French Village, St. Peter; as well as 51in Greens, St. George.

Mr. Alleyne revealed that the programme would also include 22 two-storey terrace units in Tweedside Road, St. Michael; 20 rental units at Forde’s Road, Clapham, St. Michael; and 12 at Haggatt Hall, St. Michael. (JM)
