The National Housing Corporation has embarked on an accelerated housing programme.

Word of this has come from Minister of Housing and Lands, Michael Lashley, who disclosed, in a recent interview, that this programme will see the construction of some 40 houses at Workhall, St. Philip, this will begin in another two weeks.

According to Mr. Lashley, “part of this accelerated programme includes Coverly in Christ Church, where we are on target for 900 housing solutions”.  He outlined that work in this area would be done in phases. “We expect to receive permission from the Town Planner, very shortly, for the construction of 228 houses at Coverly,” he pointed out.

Under the programme, work on houses at French Village, St. Peter, Constant in St. George, and Parish Land in St. Philip is scheduled to begin within the next few months.
