The 2019 edition of the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) will kick off this Saturday, October 12.

This year’s launch, entitled: Art In The Park, will take place in the Queen’s Park Steel Shed from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Patrons can come out and enjoy Art Talks with Shane Eastmond, Corrie Scott, Sylvester Clarke, Ezra Beckles, Ramona Grandison and Jefferson Inniss.

They can also engage with the Movement Collective on the topics What’s Trending in Publishing, Film Production 101, Lighting Design for Stage, Breaking Art Barriers and more.

There will also be opportunities to paint with Alex Marshall, dance with Riddim Tribe, enjoy a folk session or even join the cast of the ‘Bus Man’ with Winston Farrell. Persons may also support local literary artists at The Chattel House Book Fair.

Performers for the NIFCA launch include Akeem Chandler-Prescod, Dancin’ Africa, Multifarious Dance Crew and Rhesa Garnes. For more information, persons should call 417-6610.
