The public will have an opportunity to enjoy a family day out while conducting select business activities at the National Insurance Department when the NIS Extravaganza is held on Saturday, June 29.

It will be held on the NIS Grounds, Culloden Road, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the admission is free.

This extravaganza is one of several events being held this month to celebrate the institution’s 52nd anniversary, under the theme: A Nation’s Wealth is in Its Health.

During the day, the department will open so members of the public may also learn the “why” and “how” of doing business with the NIS Department.

Self-employed persons can take the opportunity to make early submissions and payments due by July 15, 2019.

Persons may also take advantage of the services offered in Collections, Registration, Customer Service and Compliance in a one-stop shop, and avoid long queues by using the ticketing and drop box systems.

In addition, there will be a health fair, where there will be health checks, cooking demonstrations and physical activities such as yoga and Zumba fitness.
