The NIS pays its pensioners every four weeks, not monthly. The payments are issued for 13 four-week periods each year for those paid by lodgement to banks and credit unions, or 26 two-week periods for those receiving cheques through the mail.

The NIS urges its pensioners who already have bank and credit union accounts to make the switch from cheques to lodgement and gain immediate access to ALL their monies. There is no penalty for switching.

If you have any queries, please call the PBX at 431-7400, the Contact Centre at 467-4647 or e-mail the NIS at customer.service@bginis.gov.bb. For further details, please visit its official website at www.nis.gov.bb.
