The Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment has advised that there will be no National Summer Camps this year.

No camps will be held due to the current safety and public health concerns pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ministry, however, is currently working assiduously to finalise summer programmes, activities and experiences that would operate at the community level, in small groupings and with online options, to offer parents and guardians alternative opportunities to engage our younger citizens.

These activities will include an Introductory Arts Programme and an Information Technology Service for Teens Programme.

The Division of Youth Affairs and the Community Development Department are well known for providing excellent summer programmes, and while the COVID-19 pandemic may change the traditional approach and delivery of programmes, the Ministry commits to remaining dynamic and creative in providing attractive and engaging summer activities for all Barbadian youth.
