The public is advised that no one has been authorized to go door to door collecting money for Government’s Adopt Our Families Programme.

Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Alies Jordan, issued this reminder today, following reports from some members of the public that persons had visited their homes in St. George, purporting to be affiliated to Government, and are assigned to collect funds for the programme.

However, Ms. Jordan stated that this “is absolutely not true. Government does not do business in such a manner, where there is no accountability”.

“It is regrettable that in these difficult times that persons are trying to defraud each other, and shame on those persons for attempting to do so,” she emphasized.

She stressed that an account has been set up at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank, Broad Street, and persons should make deposits to account number 1001193982, and then email adoptafamily@pmo.gov.bb, advising of the deposit.

The Prime Minister’s Permanent Secretary expressed appreciation to all persons and companies who have supported the programme to date, and made an appeal to others who could assist to make a contribution by depositing funds to the FCIB account.
