During the meeting at Ilaro Court, the Ambassador benefitted from an exchange of information about the region’s development over the years. The Prime Minister traced attempts at regional cooperation from the failed West Indies Federation in 1965 to the CARICOM Single Market and Economy in 2006.

Mr. Stuart said he was impressed with Norway’s strides in renewable energy and fish farming which, when fully developed, could be mutually beneficial to both countries.

Barbados and Norway established diplomatic ties in 1976.
