The public is advised that under the Minimum Wage Act 2017-4, the Minister of Labour and Social Partnership Relations intends to introduce a national minimum wage, and a Sectoral Minimum Wage in Barbados with effect from April 1, 2021.

Information on the proposed Minimum Wage Order may be obtained from the following two websites: the Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations and by visiting our Downloads section.

Persons who wish to make objections should note that the Minimum Wage Act at Section 7 (2) (b) allows for a period of no less than 40 days from the date of the initial notification, during which such objections may be received. 

The objection should be forwarded to the Minister of Labour and Social Partnership Relations by March 17, 2021 via email at CLO@labour.gov.bb.
