Several Barbadian sportsmen will take centre stage on Saturday, January 29, 2011, when the National Sports Council (NSC) hosts its 28th annual awards ceremony at the Frank Collymore Hall.

Former World 200 metres Champion, Frankie Fredericks of Namibia, will deliver the feature address. He is currently the Chairman of the IAAF Athletes’ Commission and a member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee.

Renewing the Quest for Excellence is the theme of the celebrations and among the awards to be presented on the night, are the Sports Administrator Award, the Media Award, Coach of the Year Award and the Youth Award. Minister of Sports, Stephen Lashley, will also be on hand to deliver remarks and present the Minister of Sports Award.??
