Parents who wish to keep their kids active this summer can now register their children in the National Sports Council’s (NSC) annual Summer Sports Camp, which will run from July 9 to August 17.

Camp forms are available for download from the NSC’s website www.nscbarbados.com.  Instant registration takes place Mondays to Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, until July 7.  Forms will be available at the council for persons who are unable to download them.

Two recent passport-sized photos and the registration fee should also accompany the completed application form.

Twenty-four disciplines will be offered during the camp, including water polo, hockey, swimming, badminton, basketball, cricket, football and cycling.

Persons should also note that in the discipline of swimming, they will only be allowed to register a maximum of two campers, and will not be allowed to register any camper in that particular discipline, who has participated in the sport for two years or more.

Several tours are being planned for the campers, including a visit to Sunbury Plantation, the Bajan Bus Tour and a visit to Splish Splash.

Children will also benefit from a number of informative workshops. For more information about the camp, persons may call the National Sports Council at 430-7700.
