The National Task Force on Crime Prevention (NTFCP) will next Monday introduce a pilot intervention programme, Youth Crime Watch Barbados that is tailored to make schools and communities crime, drug and violence-free.

Director Cheryl Willoughby will launch three days of training for secondary students from Christ Church Foundation School, Coleridge and Parry, and Parkinson Memorial Secondary, during a 9 a.m. ceremony at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael.

Guidance counsellors, teachers and community officers will also benefit from this instruction with the intention of implementing the youth leadership movement at other secondary schools.

Employing crime prevention concepts, Youth Crime Watch teaches positive values and builds self esteem in the youth.

This Barbados coaching will be conducted by trainers Gerald Rudoff and Terry Allen Jones of the international organisation, Youth Crime Watch America.
