Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Week will be observed in Barbados from Sunday, July 11, to Friday, July 16.

The Labour Department, in conjunction with the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, will host a number of virtual activities, including a church service and a series of free webinars.

Under the theme A Safe Workplace: Now More Than Ever, the week will start with a service at the James Street Methodist Church, The City, on Sunday, July 11, at 9:00 a.m. Minister of Labour and Social Partnership Relations, Colin Jordan, is expected to deliver brief remarks during the church service.

The webinars, from July 12 to 16, will address several topics, including Preventing Violence and Harassment at Work, Indoor Air Quality, Practical Tips for Safety Committees, and National Workplace Wellness Policy. 

Minister Jordan will also address the opening ceremony for the webinars on Monday, July 12, at 9:00 a.m.  Interested persons may register by clicking here.

The Labour Department is also encouraging work places to organise their own OSH awareness events during this period, and to notify the department of these plans.
