Tuesday, October 11, will be exactly 50 days before Barbados celebrates its 50th Anniversary of Independence.

To mark this occasion, the 50th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations Secretariat will hold an event entitled: 50 Days to 50 Years, in Bridgetown.

It will commence with a flash mob in the area of Cave Shepherd, Broad Street, at 11:30 a.m., followed by a parade to Jubilee Gardens led by the Pompasetters Tuk Band.

At Jubilee Gardens, 50th Anniversary memorabilia will be on sale, as well as the Legacy magazine by the Nation Publishing Company. Patrons will also be treated to games and giveaways, as well as a lunch time concert featuring the Royal Barbados Police Force Band.

Chairperson of the 50th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations Coordinating Committee, Senator Maxine McClean, will also deliver remarks.
