As the Barbados Association of Office Professional (BAOP), celebrates its 35th Anniversary, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Patrick Todd, has challenged the association to continue to grow and adapt to the ever-changing global environment.

Speaking last Saturday at the Dinner, Installation and Awards Ceremony of the BAOP, Minister Todd encouraged members to ensure that they remained "relevant" to the evolving scenarios in their profession.

"You need to strive to be an indispensable unit in your employment, by mastering more skills and developing a wide range of interests that can benefit you and your organisation," he stressed.

Commending the BAOP on its efforts to "broaden the profession" through the award of a number of scholarships, as well as through its annual educational seminars, Mr. Todd urged the association to work to ensure that it continued to grow in status.

"Strive to ensure that the profession attains a status such that it becomes a beacon of sustained admiration and respect… especially among young people now in the process of choosing a career path," he advised.
