Public officers now have the opportunity to give their feedback on the recently introduced Flexible Work Arrangements Policy for the Public Service of Barbados.

Director of Human Resource Policy and Staffing Directorate in the Ministry of the Public Service (MPS), Kim Belle, said the survey must be completed and submitted by Monday, September 6.

Ms. Belle urged public officers to complete the brief survey, saying the feedback would significantly assist MPS as it continues to roll out the policy in the public service.

“This Flexible Work Arrangements Policy becomes even more relevant and timely at this time, with Barbados again reporting a spike in COVID-19 cases.  These new work arrangements have been lauded by some public officers, as they allow them to carry out their functions in a safe environment.

Ms. Belle explained that the information gathered from the survey would allow MPS to ascertain the uptake of the new arrangements by public officers, if there were any challenges with the execution, and if any aspects needed to be tweaked.

The four flexible work arrangement options are: a compressed week, flexi-time, staggered hours and telecommuting.
