Issues related to national security came to the fore recently when members of the international law enforcement community met with Barbados Foreign Minister, Senator Maxine McClean.

The delegation, led by Airport Communication Project (AIRCOP) Project Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Sergio Naranjo, held talks with Senator McClean at her Culloden Road office.

Other members of the group were Focal Point for the Caribbean, UNODC/ROPAN, Bo Shakira Harris; Senior Technical Officer of the World Customs Organisation, Pierre Bertrand; and Crime Intelligence Officer with International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), Sello Moerane.??The parties discussed the ways in which security measures at this island???s airport could be improved.
