Motorists will be paying slightly less for petroleum products in the next couple of days.

Effective midnight, Sunday, June 6, the retail price of gasoline will decrease from $2.54 to $2.53 per litre.?? The price of diesel and Kerosene will decrease by one cent and five cents respectively, and will now be retailed at $2.19 and $1.40 per litre.

Government has a mechanism in place to adjust petroleum prices in a more timely fashion, whereby they will be regulated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Empowerment, Trade, Industry and Commerce, on the advice of the Division of Energy.

This mechanism is now in use and price changes will be more frequent (i.e up or down) in accordance with the imported prices of petroleum products.??jwilson@barbados.gov.bb
