Minister of International Business,
George Hutson

The Ministry of International Business and International Transport, in collaboration with the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, will host a one-day Stakeholders Workshop on the Establishment of the International Institute of Financial Risk and Regulation (IFRR).

It gets under way tomorrow, Thursday, April 21, in the 4th Floor conference room of the New Administration Building, UWI, Cave Hill, St. Michael, with a welcome address by Minister of International Business, George Hutson at 9:00 a.m.

Featured speakers will include Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Dr. DeLisle Worrell; Principal and Pro-Vice Chancellor (UWI), Sir Hilary Beckles; President of the Barbados International Business Association, Mohammed Patel; President and Chairman of the Board of the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Professor Udo Steffens and representative of the European Union delegation to Barbados, Hubert Perr.

Topics to be discussed are: A World-Class Training Institution in the Caribbean: Why is it needed and what form should it take? Developing the Widespread and Challenging Caribbean Market: A Phased Business Model; Building A Sustainable Institution: The Initial Foundations; and How IFRR Should be Taken Forward.
