Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Sen. Maxine McClean, chats with China’s Ambassador to Barbados, Liu Huanxing

Barbados and Brazil have expressed renewed interest in a number of areas that should prove beneficial to both countries.

This came out of discussions held today between new Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Maxine McClean, and Brazil’s Ambassador, Orlando Galveas Oliviera.

Cooperation in agriculture; the need for air transport between the two countries; and double taxation and prison transfer agreements and the establishment of an embassy in Brazil were the key areas addressed.

Meanwhile, China and Barbados are seeking to further strengthen their relations.  This was highlighted today during talks between Minister McClean and China’s Ambassador, Liu Huanxing.  Specifically, they looked at ways of cooperating in rural development, education and agriculture.
