Barbadians have responded in their numbers to Government’s Haiti Relief Effort, with pledges to date totalling, $128,903.52.

This was disclosed today by Parliamentary Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner, as she applauded Barbadians for their generosity of spirit while encouraging them to continue donating.

Senator Sandiford-Garner reminded persons that all monies and items collected were part of the national collaborative effort which Government launched with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency.

The Parliamentary Secretary promised that everything donated would go to assist CARICOM’s relief efforts in Haiti.

Persons are advised to call the Haiti Relief Command Centre at Kensington Oval at 274-1100-02, 274-1106-07 and 274-1150-55.

Those individuals desirous of making monetary contributions can still do so at any branch of First Caribbean International Bank or the Barbados National Bank. The account numbers are 1001059963 and 1801513-2002, respectively.
