A number of Parish Independence Committees will host activities this month for persons in their respective communities.

On Thursday, June 14, the St. Philip Parish Independence Committee will host a community quiz at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St. Philip, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Then on Sunday, June 17, the Christ Church Parish Independence Committee will stage a beach clean-up at Silver Sands Beach, Silver Sands, Christ Church, from 7:00 a.m.

Additionally, a number of parish talent shows are being planned for Saturday, June 23.  Shows will be held by the St. Philip Parish Independence Committee at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, beginning at 6:00 p.m., and the St. Michael Parish Independence Committee at The St. Michael School, Martindale’s Road, St. Michael, from 5:00 p.m.

The St. Peter Parish Independence Committee will host its show at the Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St. Peter, starting at 6:00 p.m., while the St.Thomas Parish Independence Committee will hold its event at the Lester Vaughan School Hall, Cane Garden, St. Thomas, from 5:30 p.m.

The St. George Parish Independence Committee will have its turn at the St. George Parish Church Hall, Glebe, St. George, at 5:30 p.m.  The St. Joseph Parish Independence Committee will also stage a show at the Grantley Adams Secondary School Hall, Blackmans, St. Joseph, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
