The rich talent of some Barbadians in various communities across the island will be on display over the next three weekends when the Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat stages the Parish Talent Zonal Shows.
They will begin this Saturday, September 10, with the Southern Zone Show at the Parkinson Memorial Secondary School, the Pine, St. Michael; while the Northern Zone Parish show will be on Saturday, September 17, at Queen’s College, Husbands, St. James. They will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The final show, which will be for the Central Zone, will be on Saturday, September 24, at the Lester Vaughan Secondary School, Cane Garden, St. Thomas, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
All shows are free to the public and there will be a variety of performances in song, dance, drama and poetry.
The Parish Independence Committees previously held their own talent shows or auditions to select a maximum of five acts to participate in the zonal shows, with the best act from each parish going forward to perform in the parish talent segment of the Spirit of the Nation Show in November.
