Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley’s address to the nation – February 2, 2021. (PMO)

Barbadians are being encouraged to pause to pray at mid-day on Sunday, February 7.

During an address to the nation today, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said persons should take the specified time to pray and reflect on what must be done to save our people and nation.

“Whether you are Christian, or whether you belong to another religion, we are a country that believes in a Higher Force, and I hope that we can collectively as a nation pause on Sunday at mid-day for five minutes, to pray, meditate, reflect, and do whatever you do best.

“And, I’m not talking just to the people who are accustomed to going to church, I am talking about all of us,” she stated.

Ms. Mottley noted that Ash Wednesday would be observed on February 17, and expressed confidence that the Christian community would come up with an appropriate service for the day.
