Over 150 persons will undergo training in HIV and AIDS, when the Ministry of Tourism holds a refresher’s course for Peer Educators, next Monday, June 29, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill. The workshop is a collaborative effort on the part of the Ministry, Associates for International Development Inc. (AID) and Community Health Action and Transformation.

A major aim of the session is to bring together educators who were previously trained under the Ministry’s HIV/AIDS Programme to determine their level of knowledge in the area of HIV/AIDS.?? Information updates will also be provided.

Participants are expected to come from a broad spectrum of the tourism industry, including hotels, restaurants, island attractions and the National Conservation Commission. They will receive certificates at the end of the course.

The workshop will officially open at 8:30 a.m. with remarks from Tourism Development Officer with responsibility for HIV/AIDS, Madge Dalrymple. Senior Project Officer, Maisha Hutton and Project Officer with AID Inc. Martin Chase, will also address participants.
