The exploration of slavery through archeological evidence will be the focus of the penultimate lecture in the Barbados Museum and Historical Society’s 2009 series, entitled “Slavery in Barbados.”

The presentation, on the topic “Slavery from the ground up: The Archeological Evidence”, will take place on Tuesday, April 7, at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael, starting at 8:00 p.m. The lecturer will be Dr. Thomas Loftfield.

The series concludes the following week, Tuesday, April 14, with University lecturer, Professor Alvin Thompson, speaking on the subject, “Testing the Chains: Resistance to Slavery.”

This presentation will also be held at Solidarity House, beginning at 8:00 p.m. The series is being held in conjunction with the Department of History of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
