Pharmacists and pharmacy owners are invited to a panel discussion being hosted by the Barbados Drug Service (BDS) this Wednesday, February 16, to discuss the upcoming changes to the drug formulary and the reintroduction of the dispensing fee in private pharmacies.

The closed-door meeting will be held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC) at 7:00 p.m. and panellists will include Chairman of the Drug Formulary Committee, Dr. Collette George, who will give a review of the Formulary, and Project Team Leader, Cheryl Yearwood, who will speak on the dispensing fee.

Also sitting on the panel will be Director of the BDS, Maryam Hinds, Clinical Pharmacologist at the University of the West Indies, Dr. Kenneth Connell, member of the Barbados Pharmaceutical Society and the Drug Tender Committee, George Alleyne; and Dr. Cindy Flower, a member of the Drug Formulary Committee.??

The public will also have an opportunity to ask any questions on the BDS’ changes at the drug services quarterly public lecture which will take the form of a panel discussion on Tuesday, March 15, at the LESC, starting at 7:00 p.m.????
