On Monday, February 16, bilateral talks were held between Prime Minister of Barbados, David Thopson and Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China’s State Council, Mr. Hui Liangyu. 

The talks, which were also attended by several members of the Cabinet of Barbados and high level officials of the People’s Republic of China, took place at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Prime Minister David Thompson and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean greeted Vice Premier Hui Liangyu before engaging in bilateral talks.

Prime Minister Thompson was joined on the Barbados delegation by (from left), Minister of Agriculture, Sen. Haynesley Benn; Minister of Social Care, Christopher Sinckler; Attorney-General, Freundel Stuart; Sen. McClean; Minister of Economic Affairs, David Estwick; Minister of Community Development and Culture, Steve Blackett, Ambassador-designate to China, Sir Lloyd Erskine Sandiford and Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, Sen. Darcy Boyce.

Members of both delegations posed for pictures after bilateral talks and the signing of key bilateral agreements.
