Prime??Minister, Freundel Stuart. (FP)??

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart will be seeking to woo more Canadian business to Barbados, when he meets with a number of potential investors in Toronto over the next couple of days.

He leaves the country today on a promotional tour organised by Invest Barbados and the Barbados High Commission in Canada.

Among a number of engagements that the Barbados leader will be fulfilling while in Canada is an address tomorrow (Friday) to the Toronto Board of Trade, the largest local chamber of commerce in Canada, which represents more than 10,000 business and individual members across that country.

The Prime Minister will also be meeting with the Barbados diaspora living in Toronto and other Canadian cities, as he is slated to give the keynote address at the annual Barbados Charity Ball, where he will bring those in attendance up to date on the Network Conference to be held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in August, as well as plans for the upcoming Crop Over season.

The Barbados Charity Ball, which is in its ninth year, raises funds to assist Barbadian students and other worthwhile causes, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

This year, renowned local chef, Peter Edey, as well as entertainers, Edwin Yearwood and Krosfyah; Roger Gibbs and Tuk Ensemble; among other artistes, will be featured at the Ball. The event has secured sponsorship from two major Canadian banks operating in Barbados.

Prime Minister Stuart returns home on Monday.
