Prime Minister, David Thompson

Pig farmers and poultry producers, among other commodity groups, will this Saturday, October 25, hear, first-hand, Government’s plans for their respective sectors.

That is when Prime Minister, David Thompson, delivers the feature address at the Barbados Agricultural Society’s (BAS) Annual General Assembly, at the Grand Barbados Beach Resort, Aquatic Gap, St. Michael, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Representatives of the five commodity groups, which currently fall under the aegis of the BAS, will receive insight into the performance of their individual sectors during the past year, as well as into the BAS’ financial position, when President, Wendell Clarke, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), James Paul, present the President’s Report and the Financial Statement & Auditor’s Report respectively. Mr. Paul is also expected to present the CEO’s report.

They will also have an opportunity to voice issues of concern and comment on reports prior to the meeting’s adjournment.

The commodity groups expected at this meeting include the Barbados Association of Pig Farmers, the Barbados Egg and Poultry Producers’ Association, the Barbados Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association, the Barbados Dairy and Beef Producers’ Association and the Sheep Farmers’ Inc.
