The role of the post in the development of Barbados will come into sharper focus next month, when the Barbados Postal Service (BPS) hosts a series of activities.

The activities begin on Sunday, October 5, with a church service at St. Stephen???s Anglican Church, Black Rock, St. Michael, at 8:30 a.m.

On Tuesday, October 7, the BPS will host a lecture on the topic: The Post in the Social Development of Barbados, presented by Senator Professor Henry Fraser, at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, The Garrison, St. Michael, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Members of the public interested in attending the lecture are asked to contact the General Post Office at 426-1801 or 436-4800, extension 3282 or 3262, to reserve their ticket.

The BPS will join postal services around the world in celebration of World Post Day on Thursday, October 9.??Then on Tuesday, October 21, members of the public are invited to join the staff of the BPS for a free lunch-time concert at the General Post Office on Cheapside, St. Michael, beginning at noon.

The final event will be a free variety concert in the Jackie Opel Amphitheatre of the General Post Office, on Saturday, October 25, beginning at 7:00 p.m.??All are invited to join the BPS in these activities.
