The Barbados Postal Service is preparing to release a set of new definitive stamps.

From Monday, January 18, the issue of stamps featuring Builders of Barbados will go on sale at all post offices across the island, and will come in 14 denominations.

Bussa will be featured on the five cents stamp; Grantley Adams on the 10 cents stamp; Sir Frank Walcott on the 25 cents stamp; Sir Hugh Springer on the 60 cents stamp and Daphne Joseph-Hackett on the 65 cents stamp.

Meanwhile, Charles Duncan O???Neal will be featured on the $1 stamp; Samuel Jackman Prescod, the $1.50 stamp; Clement Osbourne Payne, the $1.80 stamp; DaCosta Edwards, the $2 stamp; Sarah Ann Gill, the $2.20 stamp; Eunice Gibson, the $2.50 stamp; Errol Walton Barrow, the $3 stamp; James Arthur Tudor, the $5 stamp, and Sir Garfield Sobers on the $10 stamp. Alternatively, interested persons can purchase the set of 14 for $30.65.

First Day Covers will cost $32.90, and can be bought or ordered from the Philatelic Bureau, General Post Office, Cheapside, Bridgetown, or from the BPS website at www.bps.gov.bb.??The issue will be on sale until Friday, September 23, and will remain available for five years from the date of release at the Philatelic Bureau.
