In the aftermath of renewed theft of postmen’s motorcycles and bicycles, Postmaster General Joel Brathwaite has appealed to the Barbadian population to cooperate with the authorities in protecting their investment.

"Your postman is vital in your communications network. The motorcycle or bicycle is his only mode of transportation for carrying out his duties. It is also his personal property. Help us to protect his investment," pleaded the Postmaster General.

He advised: "When you see suspicious activity around a postman’s motorcycle or bicycle, or should you witness a crime against a postman, please assist by calling the police emergency line 211; the crime stoppers hotline 429-8787 and the Postmaster General at 426-3424."

"By doing this," said Mr. Brathwaite, "you will be helping in the delivery of your mail in a safe, timely and secure manner."

He thanks the public "for helping to maintain the partnership with the post, which has served this country well for many decades".
