As from midnight tonight, Friday, December 19, the retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will be reduced. According to the Director in the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Terry Bascombe, Cabinet took the decision in light of recent reductions in the price of crude oil and its derivatives.

He revealed that the price of LPG will be reduced from Bds. $170.47 per 100 lb cylinder to Bds $130.50; the 25 lb cylinder will drop from  Bds $45.20 to Bds $35.21; and the 20 lb cylinder will go from Bds $36.16 to Bds $28.17.

This amounts to a reduction of $39.97 per 100 lb cylinder; $9.99 per 25 lb cylinder; and $7.99 per 20 lb cylinder.

The last retail price reduction of LPG was on November 14, 2008.

The total reduction figure, taking into account the previous reduction, now stands at $57.65, $14.42 and $11.53 on 100 lb, 25 lb and 20 lb cylinders, respectively.
