Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley will participate in the 14th Regional Investments and Capital Markets Conference, which will be held in Jamaica, from January 22 to 24.

Ms. Mottley has been invited to make a presentation on: New Approach to Regional Development: The Growth Agenda, on day two of the annual conference. The meeting is being hosted by the Jamaica Stock Exchange, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Expanding our Borders: Securing our Future is the theme of the three-day meeting, which has been described as a premier regional financial forum that attracts some of the most acclaimed and innovative business and state leaders in the world.

Some of the topics to be examined at this year’s consultation include: Transforming the Regional Economy: Achieving Robust Economic Growth; Life After the IMF: Preserving the Benefits of the IMF Through Sustainable Growth and Development; and Public Sector Reform: Positive Change Without Pain.

There will be several panel discussions, including Getting the Region Ready for Future Changes in Information and Communication and Block Chain Technology: A Constructive or Disruptive Force.

Ms. Mottley will take the opportunity while in Jamaica to meet with members of that country’s private sector on Monday, January 21.

While Ms. Mottley is on official business, Minister of Housing, Lands and Rural Development, George Payne, will perform the functions of Prime Minister.
