Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso sample Bajan cuisine, following a ‘Cook Off’ at the Barbados Museum.??

Prince Harry of Wales and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho met eight of this island’s war veterans today during a tour of the Barbados Museum.

The tour formed part of their itinerary as they enjoy official events while on the island.

Both Princes greeted each Legionnaire and inquired about their years of service in the armed forces.

Prince Harry spoke with British-born veteran, Gordon Brown, who has been residing in Barbados for 30 years. The ex-serviceman recounted his experiences as a soldier in the British Northampton Regiment and mentioned being on the Royal Yacht Britannia. He also spoke about his travels to Lesotho.

Prince Seeiso told the veterans about the beauty and terrain of his country and also expressed his love for Barbados, which he hopes to revisit.

Retired serviceman George Browne revealed that he had been a corporal in the Southern Caribbean Regiment and that in 1995 he had attended a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II. ??

Both princes were treated to a steel band reception on arrival at the museum. They also toured the African Gallery, sampled a food display prepared by students of Queen’s College and took part in a ???Cook Off’ and watched a cultural performance that focussed on HIV/AIDS.
