Moving Forward Together will be the focus when the Barbados Prison Service hosts a week of activities from Sunday, October 15, to Saturday, October 21.

The week will start with a church service and parade at the Beulah Methodist Church, Beulah, St. Philip, on Sunday, October 15, beginning at 9:15 a.m.

This will be followed by the Prison Week 5K Run & Walk, beginning and ending at HMP Dodds, Dodds, St. Philip, from 4:00 p.m. Walkers will journey along the Bushy Park Race Circuit, pass the St. Philip Parish Church, move through Church Village, before returning to HMP Dodds.

Registration for the 5k Run & Walk is presently ongoing at HMP Dodds, or interested persons may call the Barbados Prison Service Sports Club at 416-6900, extension 6017/6018/6242 or 6007, for more information.

Trophies will be awarded for the first, second and third placed male and female; the oldest and youngest participants; and the largest group.

On Monday, October 16, there will be a Health Extravaganza at the prison from 10:00 a.m., when staff and inmates will put their health and wellness displays on show.

The 10th anniversary Parade and Award ceremony will come off on Wednesday, October 18, at HMP Dodds, Dodds, St. Philip, from 10:00 a.m.

Later that same day, members of the Prison Service will unleash their competitive spirit at a Community Sports Day, at the HMP Dodds Playing Field, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

This sporting fun will continue on Thursday, October 19, at the playing field, with a Celebrity Cricket Match, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
