The Private Investigators and Security Guard Unit, Prime Minister’s Office, Weymouth Corporate Centre, Roebuck Street, St. Michael, will resume operations to the public from next Monday, March 8.

Those persons employed in the field of security are advised that they may visit the unit Monday to Friday, between 8:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Security Officer II, Investigations, Leonard Cyrus, is urging those security personnel who have not yet renewed their licences, to do so as soon as possible.

Mr. Cyrus reminded them that the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act states that no person may provide services as a private investigator or security guard, or operate an agency engaged in the business of providing those services, unless licensed under the Act.

Any person who contravenes the Act “is guilty of an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of $5,000, or imprisonment of two years, or both”.
