The first reading of the Private Trust Companies (PTC) legislation is expected to be laid in Parliament tomorrow, Tuesday, October 16, for debate on Tuesday, October 23.

This was disclosed by Minister of International Business and International Transport, George Hutson, during a press conference to launch International Business week which runs from October 21 to 27 under the theme: Innovation: Our Path to New Horizons at Hilton Barbados today.

Mr. Hutson said legislation to make provision for the Private Trust Companies and Foundations should soon be on the statute books. "This is most appropriate as our Prime Minister is on record of having promised a full debate on the International Business Sector," he said.

Meanwhile, he explained work on the Foundations legislation, headed by Director of International Business, Kaeron Venner, was now at an advanced stage, and should be before Parliament by the end of November.
