The prize-giving ceremony for the Organization of American States (OAS) Poetry Competition will take place tomorrow, Friday, March 25, at 11:00 a.m. 

It will be held in the auditorium of the Media Resource Department (MRD), Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.

Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, and Administrative Technician Officer of the General Secretariat of the OAS (Barbados), Erika Watson, will address the ceremony.

The OAS Poetry Competition, which targeted individuals 16 to 25 years old, was held to celebrate the Fifth Annual Inter-American Week for People of African Decent in the Americas, March 21 to 25, 2022.

With its theme: Stories of Courage in the Americas: Resistance to Slavery and Unity against Racism, the competition also commemorated International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Slavery and the Atlantic Slave trade.
