Productivity issues will take the spotlight in October when The Productivity Council celebrates its 20th anniversary with a number of activities.

The theme of the celebrations is Securing Prosperity Through Productivity, and the events will begin with a Fun Walk and Health Extravaganza on Saturday, October 12. The walk will begin at the Baobab Tower, Warrens, St. Michael, at 6:00 a.m. and end at Browne???s Beach, Bay Street, where the health fair will be held.

Those persons interested in participating in the walk should register with the Council by calling 626-9416.

A service will be held on Sunday, October 20, at the Western Light Church of the Nazarene, Oxnards, St. James, starting at 10:00 a.m., while a productivity handbook will be launched the following day, on Monday, October 21, at the Council???s office at the Baobab Tower.

There will be a one-day conference for the public on Wednesday, October 23, entitled: Looking Through the Lens to Barbados 2025: A National Dialogue on Productivity and Competitiveness. Persons interested in participating in this session, which will be held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, should call the Council.

The hard work and dedication of staffers will be rewarded on Saturday, October 26, when a dinner and awards ceremony is held at the Savannah Hotel.

The Productivity Council is an agency designed to help Barbadian and Caribbean businesses develop their competitiveness through the application of productivity enhancement solutions.

The Council, formerly the National Productivity Board, was established by an Act of Parliament on August 31, 1993, to further the objectives of the Protocol for the Implementation of a Prices and Incomes Policy which was signed by Government, employers and workers??? representatives.
