Over the next two weeks, the Productivity Council will be staging a secondary schools debating competition, designed to educate students about the importance of productivity to the island’s economic development.??????????????????????

The contest, now in its second year, will begin with preliminary rounds slated to take place from September 22 to October 8 at the Barbados Workers’ Union, Solidarity House.?? The sessions will start at 1:00 p.m each day.

Participants, who will be drawn from 12 secondary schools, will rival each other for the Championship Shield and other prizes when the finals are held on November 5.

Last year, Harrison College edged out St. James Secondary by two points to clinch the challenge trophy in the keenly contested finals.
