Inculcating a culture of productivity within the workforce will come under the microscope next week, when the Productivity Council hosts productivity Week 2011.

Under the theme: Getting Everyone to Understand Productivity, the activities will kick off with a church service?? on Sunday, October 9, at The People’s Cathedral, Bishop’s Court Hill, St. Michael, starting at 10:15 a.m.

The following day, Monday, October 10, the buzzword for the day will be The Practice of Complementing a Person on a Job Well Done is a Great Way to Enhance Motivation.?? In keeping with this maxim, the Council’s Training Officer, Karen Collins, will be the presenter at an interactive forum on: Motivating Employees from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.??

Later that day, there will be a talk on Customer Service by Chief Programme Officer, Anthony Sobers from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.?? The sessions will be held at the Council’s Enright House, 2nd Avenue, Belleville, St. Michael location.

The theme Fostering a healthy and Positive Work Environment is Key to Worker Productivity, will set the tone for an interactive forum and panel discussion on Tuesday, October 11, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., at the Barbados Workers’ Union Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael, when: Health and the Worker: Examining the Implications for Productivity is discussed.??

Resource persons slated to present are General Secretary of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados, Dennis Depeiza and Account Executive Employee Benefits and Marketing Representative at Sagicor, Jeannette Barrow.

The subject matter Open and Honest Communication is a Building Block for Successful Relationships will come into sharp focus, during a forum on the ABC’s of Performance-Based Incentive Schemes.?? The session will be held on Wednesday, October 12, at the Productivity Council from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and the presenter will be Senior Productivity Officer, Joanne Mapp.?? Later that day, there will be a self defence class for staff from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

A Hallmark of Good Leadership is the Willingness to Accept Responsibility is the main area of focus on Thursday, October 13, during a workshop entitled Youth in Leadership, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m at the Council.?? It will be presented by Training Officer, Karen Collins, and is open to secondary schools students.

The week climaxes on Friday, October 14, with an open day from 10:00 to 3:00 p.m, followed by a ???wind down lime’ from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m, at the Council.??
