The Economic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Investment, in its capacity as the National Liaison Office for the Organization of American States (OAS), has advised that there are several professional development short to medium-term courses for which Barbadians can apply.

All courses are being offered under the OAS Professional Development Scholarships Programme.

The course, Wind Energy: Components and Installations, is being offered by the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Spain, from Monday, November 4, 2019, to Saturday, April 4, 2020. It will be taught online in Spanish.

Also being offered is Sustainable Tourism and Local Development in Rural Areas by the Centro Internacional de Fórmacion, Italy. It will run from Monday, November 4, 2019, to Monday, March 30, 2020. It will also be taught online in Spanish.

The deadline for applications for both courses is Thursday, October 17.

One-month courses are also being offered by the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (INICTEL-UNI) of Peru in Security of Information and Standards ISO 27001 and ISO 27002, and 5G Mobile Communications Technology. The courses will be taught online in Spanish and are scheduled to commence on Friday, November 15.

Applications must be submitted online no later than Friday, October 25.

For each course, applicants must submit a copy of the completed applications to the Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Investment, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, by the deadline.
